Devin Townsend Plays Unreleased Music on MeVIO Underground

Category: Blog, On Tour · 0

Yesterday we were honored with a rare acoustic set by the great Devin Townsend, who was in town playing with Cynic at Slims. I picked him up at the venue at 1pm and he drove to the MeVIO Studios with me alone – no road manager, handler or anything. I had posted on twitter that we were gonna let a few fans in to watch the performance. A couple of Devin superfans came and we sat them down right in front of their hero. Devin was super nice to them and answered all of their questions and performed a great 35 minute set of mostly unreleased stuff. One of the kids posted the set list on the HevyDevy forums:

Some nameless ghost stuff without lyrics
A bit of a jam from Deconstruction
Terminal
Ki
Some new song for ghost with a kinda rockabilly rhythm called (I think… sorry was in a bit of a euphoric daze) Radio Highway
Lady Helen
Coast
The intro of Dynamics (OMG YES!)
and Quiet Riot

The performance should be posted on MeVIO Underground later this week and featured on the homepage on Wed. 1/27

BTW, he was playing MY 1968 Gibson Hummingbird!

Category: Blog, News · 1

According to Dean Goodman from Reuters, Joe Perry has set the title of his new CD as “Have Guitar Will Travel”, which he hopes will be out in November.
In what is even better news, Perry, who sings on four of the tracks, also expects to tour early next year under the guise of the Joe Perry Project.
His first three solo albums, all credited to the Joe Perry Project, were released in the early 1980s when he briefly quit Aerosmith during the most drug fueled time of the band’s carreer.
