Or if you’re more of an internet hustler and less of a sneaker pimp, head on over to GoDaddy.com and get your dream domain — www.halloweenisthebestholidayever.com — for just 7.49!! Use my code TOP7 — I just bought Heddaville.com — check it out! Go now and make me happy for eternity!

This week’s Top 5 Music Countdown is all about my favorite holiday. Halloween!!

While you’re sewing your costume together or mixing up some eyeball punch for your monster bash (see what I did there?) rock out to my play list from beyond the grave! Let’s bypass the obvious spooky tunes like “Monster Mash”, “Ghostbusters” and “Thriller”, shall we? We like to be more original on this show. Enjoy!

5.  “Psycho Killer
-Talking Heads
Picture 3

Psycho killers are most definitely scary. And evil. Qu’est-ce que c’est?

4.  “Devil Inside
-INXS

Picture 5

Every single one of us has the devil inside. The devil is evil.

3.  “I Put a Spell On You
-Screaming Jay Hawkins
Picture 4
I’ve always thought that Jay Hawk was possessed. The dirty work of witches. Witches are ugly. And evil.

2.  “Abracadabra
-Steve Miller
Picture 7Magic is evil.

1.  “Somebody’s Watching Me
-Rockwell Feat. Michael Jackson
Picture 8
Watching someone without them knowing it is unquestionably evil.

Now it’s your turn! I wanna know what spooky songs you listen to this time of year. Leave me your list on my blog at Girllovesmusic.wordpress.com!!

Happy Halloween!

August 20, 2009 By: monkeybeat Category: Blog, News, On Tour

The operators of Riot Fest have announced the initial details for their upcoming Riot Fest West event to be held in Los Angeles  on November 12-14.

Alright, I guess we’ve made you West Coasters wait long enough for the first round of announcements so here’s a bone.  We’re absolutely animated to announce that Screeching Weasel, The Dead Milkmen, Naked Raygun, 88 Fingers Louie, The Adolescents, Teen Idols and American Steel will grace the shores of the City of Angels come November.  Three day passes go on sale this Saturday August 22 at 12 PM PST!  Please not this is just the tip of the iceberg for LA; even though it’ll sink a pretty hefty boat on its own we’ve still got some surprises up our sleeves that we’ll talk about later.  Consult the Riot Fest West page for details.

Phantom Surfers announce release of their first book

August 18, 2009 By: monkeybeat Category: Blog, News

Long running San Francisco surf / garage / punk act The Phantom Surfers have announced the publication of their first book “Rock Stardom for Dum Shits”. Bass player Michael Lucas said during an interview with the show MonkeyBeat that the book would cover the ups and downs of the bands history in the music industry, including the story of the big multi-band fallout with Lookout Records that left the label without some of their biggest releases by acts like Green Day.

The book should see store shelves in the fall published via Rudos & Rubes Press which also published Michael Lucas’ “Devil Born Without Horns” in 2007.

New Riverboat Gamblers Video – Victory Lap

June 29, 2009 By: mbutler Category: Blog, News

Fresh off their opening stint on this summer’s Rise Against/Rancid megatour, Denton, Texas’ favorite sons, THE RIVERBOAT GAMBLERS have unleashed the music video for “Victory Lap,” the second single off their new album, Underneath The Owl. Director Jose Jones writes:

“We were going for a Documentary “On the Road” type look for this video. Mike, the lead Singer, liked my Daniel Johnston Music Video a lot, and wanted something similar. The song is about constantly touring, and then finally coming home. The video combines footage from one on-set location, as well as lots of footage from Shows, and the road, and everything in between. I followed the Boys for months (though I did not get to go to Australia with them, which would have been nice).”

Triple Cobra Embark on Their First U.S. Tour

June 06, 2009 By: mbutler Category: Blog, News, On Tour

Triple Cobra is about to embark on our first full-blown national tour. I saw this band open for The Trews at the Bottom of The Hill in San Francisco and was blown away. They play Hard Glam Rock with a couple of back up singers/dancers who dress super sexy and have tons of Rock attitude.
Note: Check out Athena Valbracht III. She is incredible to watch and one of the sexiest women I’ve ever seen on stage.
