Officially now a three piece, Bottle Up & Go has tightened up and grown new muscle. BU&G continue to pursue innovation through destruction, their raw performances leaving guttered candles and blood in their wake. After a brief hiatus and a productive writing season in the foothills of rural Oregon, the band is back and better than ever.
Comprised of Keenan Mitchell on Guitar, Fareed Sajan on Drums, and Andrew Carrico on Baritone Saxophone, BU&G brings their serious dose of psychedelic garage blues to Glasslands on Wednesday August 18th for the NAG Benefit (http://www.nag-brooklyn.org/). All proceeds will benefit the local community planning and environmental justice organization.. BU&G will be showcasing new material from a forthcoming release they are finishing up in the studio this month. Headlining the show is Titus Andronicus; having just performed on the “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” show (http://pitchfork.com/news/39673-watch-titus-andronicus-crash-fallon/), and gearing up for a tour with Free Energy, this intimate performance is sure to sell out and not to be missed.
Teaming up again with producer Jake Aron (Jamie Lidell, Grizzly Bear, Yeasayer) BU&G are offering a free unreleased B-side, a cover of O. V. Wright’s “That’s How Strong My Love Is.” Recorded spontaneously in the middle of a rainstorm, it features just Keenan and Andrew. While a departure from their usual percussive tales of murder, morning tremors, and jail time, it doesn’t sacrifice the band’s trademark ragged intensity. It is an intimate look at the inner workings of a band whose live show is characterized by raucous, livewire ferocity.
