It was announced today that in conjunction with the new movie Iron Man 2, that a “unique collaboration between Marvel Studios and Columbia Records” AC/DC will be featured prominently in the movie, as well as getting their own Iron Man 2 branded soundtrack for the movie. AC/DC: Iron Man 2 will be released on April 19, 2010, and feature 15 classic AC/DC tracks from the bands history, covering all studio albums between 1976-2008.

Pre-orders are available now from both Amazon and Walmart in three different versions:

The Amazon version is available as either a CD/DVD collection or as a two vinyl set. The Walmart version is just CD only.

To go along with today’s announcement is the debut of a video for the collection of the AC/DC classic “Shoot To Thrill”. The video features footage of AC/DC’s performance in Buenos Aires during their recent Black Ice tour. Check out the video below:

Los Angeles, CA. In addition, Columbia Records will release the album AC/DC: Iron Man 2 on Monday, April 19, 2010. Pre-orders begin today, January 26th at Amazon.com for the deluxe version of AC/DC: Iron Man 2 – CD+DVD and two LP vinyl packages – and at Walmart.com for the AC/DC: Iron Man 2 CD. The film opens internationally beginning on April 28, 2010. In the U.S., the film will be distributed by Paramount Pictures and is scheduled for release on May 7, 2010.

The debut video from AC/DC: Iron Man 2 is AC/DC’s classic album cut “Shoot To Thrill,” which was filmed live last month in Buenos Aires during the band’s highly acclaimed Black Ice World Tour, the second highest grossing world tour of 2009 according to concert industry trade publication Pollstar. The video also incorporates exclusive footage from “IRON MAN 2″ and debuts worldwide today. Have Guitar … Will Travel,” a nod to the similarly titled 1959 Bo Diddley album, was named by a fan, Joe Piscitelli, after Perry asked for submissions via Twitter. Five of the tracks are sung by a relatively unknown German musician called Hagen. He was discovered by Perry’s wife, Billie, on YouTube. The remaining song on the disc is an instrumental. The first single is “Long Way to Go.” Other cuts include a cover of the early Fleetwood Mac tune “Somebody’s Gonna Get (Their Head Kicked In Tonite)” as well as the new song “Oh Lord,” which Perry sings.

“That’s kinda like a Jim Morrison-y prayer set to music,” Perry told Reuters in a recent interview. ”My son sings in the choir at school, and I had him bring in some of his friends and they came in and sang the choruses and things and helped with the vibe. That’s the kinda thing I really don’t hear in an Aerosmith record.”

Joe’s last self titled solo CD sold 31,000 copies and was nominated for a Grammy.
