Aggronautix To Release Limited Edition Figures of Milo of the Decendents and GG Allin 1991 “Extra Filthy Bloody” Edition

October 30, 2009 By: mbutler Category: News

Aggronautix is releasing a limited-edition figure of everyone’s favorite pop punker, Milo of the Decendents (1000 numbered). This replica of the charismatic frontman stands at 7 inches tall, and is made of a lightweight polyresin. Displayed in a a black and blue tri-windowed box, Milo is portrayed in action and comes complete with his trademark nerd glasses and bitchin’ stage stance.

“Wow, I can’t believe it’s happening,” said Milo. “This is like the pinnacle of success for me; it’s up there with the Playboy interview and Vans shoe!”

The figure will be distributed by MVD Entertainment Group – a company specializing in music-related distribution since 1986 – and DKE Toys – a wholesale distributor of urban / vinyl / designer art / objects / toys / figurines.

Milo is the fourth punk personality to be polyresinated by Aggronautix. In May of 2009, the company launched with a highly popular GG Allin “1991″ figure, which was limited to 2000 numbered units. That figure has since sold out, making way for the ultra-limited “Extra Filthy Bloody” Edition

The “Extra Filthy Bloody” Edition is a striking representation of GG Allin circa 1991 with added crud, blood, and cuts. The figure, limited to 500 numbered units, stands at 7 inches tall and is made of a lightweight polyresin. Loaded into a full color “splatter” box, here GG is accurately sculpted right down to the tattoos, and copious amounts of blood and filth.

Both figures will sell for $16.95 and are currently available for pre-order on the Aggronautix website www.aggronautix.com.

MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK – to Perform their First Three Albums in their Entirety over Three Separate Nights

October 14, 2009 By: mbutler Category: News

Motion City Soundtrack are giving fans a holiday season treat this year when they spend three nights at Chicago’s newest venue – Lincoln Hall – in December. The band will be taking a look back at their seven year career when they perform their first three albums in their entirety over three separate nights – I Am the Movie on the 18th, Commit This to Memory on the 19th and Even if it Kills Me on the 20th. Tickets will go on sale on Friday October 23rd at 12pm and fans will be able to buy a three show pass for $49.99 and a single show ticket for $20. For more information you can visit the band’s web site: www.motioncitysoundtrack.com and the venue’s web site: www.lincolnhallchicago.com

Motion City Soundtrack – Justin Pierre, Joshua Cain, Matt Taylor, Tony Thaxton, and Jesse Johnson – wowed fans from the start with their 2002 debut I Am the Movie (Epitaph). The album features the undeniably catchy “The Future Freaks Me Out” (still a fan favorite) and earned them a tour with Blink-182 as well as a fateful friendship with Mark Hoppus. In 2004 the band asked Hoppus to produce their next album, 2005’s extremely successful Commit This to Memory (Epitaph). The album went on to sell more than 300,000 copies and garnered raves from Spin, Rolling Stone, and Entertainment Weekly among others. It also found the band making their late night TV debut on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live. In 2007, MCS released Even If It Kills Me (Epitaph). Produced by Adam Schlesinger, Eli Janney and Ric Ocasek, the album debuted at #16 on the Top 200 Billboard Chart and earned them accolades from the media again including New York Times, SPIN and Blender as well as the cover of Alternative Press’ “Most Anticipated” issue.

Now it’s 2009 and the band will be taking a look back at the past seven years with their fans during this special three night engagement at Lincoln Hall. The event also comes on the heels of the band finishing up a new album – due out early next year and produced by their good friend Mark Hoppus.

The inspiration for “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” dies at age 46

September 28, 2009 By: sjones Category: Blog, News

lucy-vodden-415x275

Lucy Vodden, who was the inspiration for John Lennon to write the song “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds”, lost her long battle with lupus and died at the age of 46.

A childhood friend of John’s son Julian, her contribution of music history began when Julian came home from school with a picture that he drew. He told his dad that it was Lucy in the sky with diamonds. John, who was beginning to come up with ideas for the recording of the Sgt. Pepper album was struck by that phrase, and latched onto it for a song.

Lucy and Julian fell out of touch after John divorced Julian’s mother, but fell back into touch after her diagnosis with lupus.

Tommy Lee Burns Hand, Out For Several Crue Fest Shows.

August 21, 2009 By: sjones Category: Blog, News, On Tour

Sometimes you just can’t take the little boy out of the man.

Tommy Lee is out for several shows on the current Crue Fest tour because of burns to his hand. Lee was playing with some sparklers and ended up burning his left hand.

For the last five shows that started on August 14th, Morgan Rose of Sevendust was filling in for Lee. For the next three shows starting on August 21st, Lee will be replaced by Frank Zummo of Street Drum Corp.

Lee for his part is still trying to stay involved. He is coming on stage at the shows to explain to the crowd why he isn’t playing. He interacts during several songs, and does still play piano on “Home Sweet Home.”

In a posting to MySpace, Nikki Sixx wrote the following:

“…accidents do happen and, yes, frustration does happen to everybody, including Tommy, who would rather play drums (even with a damaged hand) than just about anything in the whole world. But following doctor’s orders for a few shows is what we have to (do) right now (or cancel shows). We all wanna say we’re sorry Tommy has to sit out a couple shows, but we hope to have him back up on the drums ASAP.”

As of right now, there is no scheduled time for when Lee will return to the drum kit.
