Rock’n'Roll Marathon Tour Coming to L.A.

From New Orleans to Virginia Beach to Chicago to San Diego and all points in between, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series is helping runners unleash their inner Rock Stars while raising money for charities. Next stop on the tour is Los Angeles, California this Sunday, October 24th.
The original Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon was held in San Diego, and it’s still recognized for its record setting inaugural event where more than 15,000 participated. The series is now known for live music and other Rock-related activities during and after the races, now held annually in seventeen cities nationwide. It’s the very first national series of marathons and half-marathons, and boasts more than 300,000 participants each year.
Since the first Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in 1998, charities have raised over $210 million for their respective causes through series events.
The blend of rock ‘n’ roll music with world-class endurance events made its most recent stop in Denver last weekend, where cold temperatures and an early morning start time didn’t stop 15,000 runners and thousands of spectators from coming out to experience the half-marathon, plus a concert from Semisonic. Some of the charity partners of the event included the American Cancer Society, the Susan G. Komen Marathon for the Cure, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The upcoming even in L.A. features a health and fitness expo on Friday and Saturday, and the race on Sunday morning, followed by a free concert featuring Neon Trees at 10 AM.
