THE FUMES from OZ deliver uniquely Australian
“hard rock’n blues” with swagger and style. Their live presence is
powerhouse, highly and frequently praised.
THE FUMES have hit many highs in these past years,
from their inclusion on Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival in 2008, touring
exclusively as main support for Queens of The Stone Age, to dynamic
showcases in Austin TX for SxSW 2009.
THE FUMES also toured Canada, LA and New York to
introduce themselves to North America whilst maintaining their signature
profile of regular touring in Australia and Tokyo. Inevitably chalking
up a well documented, high octane live presence on respected festival
line-ups and headline shows on rock venue stages.
All this while they released their second studio
album ‘Sundancer’ in Australia (MGM Distribution) & Japan
(P-Vine/Blues Interactions). The release – produced by Detroit legend
Jim Diamond (Dirtbombs/ Electric Six/ The White Stripes) – resulted with
a tremendous number of stunning reviews from credible music media right
around the World; national/ international radio airplay; and a steady
Top 20 position in the Australian AIR charts for 18 weeks.
THE FUMES returned to NYC in October 2009 to
showcase themselves at CMJ Music Marathon and will make their way back
overseas in August-Sept 2010 to support their first release in North
America & Europe (Musebox /EMI). Before the band head offshore the
final single from ‘Sundancer’ will be released to radio in Australia in
February to support their national tours with Clutch and Calexico.
