The Organ Beats – Sleep When We Are Dead – Music Video

Category: Blog · 0

From
the time they could sound out notes and move their fingers, Danny and
Noelle, an ambitious sibling duo, began crafting music in basements and
attics with the hometown heroes of Waltham, Massachusetts. With his
second-hand drum set, Danny began his descent into the world of Boston
hardcore, playing with several local bands while Noelle spent the next
several years recording pop songs in her neighbor’s home recording
studio.

Those pop songs would eventually generate the mildly successful
record, “From the Attic”, launching the career of a successful
Waltham-based band called Damone. With the album’s success, Damone
began touring throughout the U.S. and Asia with the shy, inimitable
16-year-old Noelle as front women, and her 18-year-old brother Danny as
tour manager. Within the year, Danny had returned home to attend
college, leaving Noelle to promote Damone’s blossoming popularity and a
successful second album.

After a blissful 9-year journey of dissonance, misfortune, and
evolution, Damone ended their relationship, liberating Noelle on an
enlightening journey deep into the woods of Vermont to find her soul
and purpose. She returned home with a broadened perspective of life:
“Humanity will inevitably destroy itself and cockroaches will reign
with blazing pincers, so why the fuck are we wasting any time?!”

Back under the city lights, on a night of swinging and dancing in
the midst of the chaotic scene, beer and whiskey flung high across the
night sky and music pierced the air with a sense of childish freedom.
Reconvening in the attic of their childhood home with their friend
Sean, a virtuoso renowned for his artistic creativity, Danny and
Noelle, brought to life an eclectic collection of acoustic songs that
Noelle had written over the past few years. The trio began
collaborating musically, introducing her organic, whimsical melodies to
the percussive and gritty fervor that would become the blue print for
The Organ Beats.

Emerging onto the Boston rock scene, the three-piece encountered a
Texan named Mikey. Destined to fill the rhythmic void and complete the
band’s evolution, his fiery rhythms and elegant melodies encapsulated a
natural musical ability that would fuse the deep silence that had
remained.

In mind’s eye a spotlight had affixed on the four of them. There
were no questions. There was no doubt. There was only the time for them
to begin their musical feat that had been awaiting them from the very
beginning.

Thus the quest begins. The Organ Beats have arrived.

The Haiti Project

Category: News · 0

A download only charity compilation launches today to raise money for the relief efforts following the Earthquake in Haiti.
The Haiti Project
A message from Ginger’s manager, Gav, who’s behind it:

Upon arriving back in the UK a few weeks ago at Heathrow (and being a little too wrapped up in seemingly important things like whether the plane would land in the snow or if my train would be running) I was immediately greeted and numbed by the horrific and shocking news reports that followed after the Haiti Earthquake. As the magnitude of the disaster continues to grow by the day, I was very keen (like most people) to do ’something’.

Thus The Haiti Project – a charity download album – was born. Within a few days of sending emails and calls to my nearest and dearest friends an album quite literally ‘came together’.

The album is spearheaded by the anthemic debut track from The Sonic Graffiti, a new band from LA put together by Ginger, Billy Morrison, Michael Butler & Scott Lipps. The track entitled Mystery Number was recorded at Matt Sorum’s studio in August 2009 & was produced by the legendary Mike Clink.

I’d like to personally say a big thankyou to Ginger, Billy, Michael, Scott & Mike for donating this exclusive track, and allowing The Haiti Project to (hopefully) raise even more money.

I would love for everyone to spread word around the internet world via their Twitterings, Facebookings, Myspacings, bloggings and other ‘ings’. Lets raise some money.

Steven Tyler Sings at Home Depot?!!- What Happened to My Heroes?

Category: Blog · 0

This story almost sounds like a hoax or an Onion News Bit. First we hear about Steven Tyler singing Karaoke Aerosmith songs and now he’s perofming at Home Depot.

tyler

If this is true, we are witnessing the fall of one of rocks greatest icons.

TMZ.com reports that Steven Tyler sang two of AEROSMITH‘s biggest hits a cappella over the loudspeaker this past weekend at a Home Depot in Rancho Mirage, California.

“Multiple employees” at the store tell TMZ.com that Tyler randomly picked up the microphone on Saturday and belted out snippets of “Dude Looks Like a Lady” and “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” for all the shoppers to enjoy.

Michael Monroe Press Conference to announce lineup of new band.

Category: Blog · 0

On Monday, Jan 25th at 12pm PST former Hanoi Rocks singer (and one of the top 2 singers in the world in my opinion) will be holding a press conference to announce the lineup of his new band. It has already been announced that Sam Yaffa will be on bass. You can watch the press conference live below.

Word on the street is that the rest of the band will consist of Ginger (Wildhearts) on guitar, Jimmy Clarke (Demolition 23) on drums and Todd Youth(Chelsea Smiles) on guitar.

Monroe previously stated about his new group, “The band is sounding killer and we’re having a really good time working and stuff. I’m really happy and excited about this.

“We’ve already got about an album’s worth of material written and rehearsed, but we’re still gonna write some more, as we’re in no hurry to get into the studio until sometime during the spring to record the album. We do wanna release something
before the summer, though. If not the whole record, at least a couple of songs or so. We’re also rehearsing the live set and I must say I’ve really missed playing a lot of my solo stuff over the past few years. Especially songs from ‘Not Fakin’ It’ and ‘Demolition 23′.

“The plan is to start playing live shows in March.”

Colossus_cover.jpg

RJD2 is back with his highly anticipated 4th solo album “The Colossus”. Marking the 10th year of his career, the album showcases the myriad of styles RJD2 has spanned as a maverick, respected producer.

Collaborating with MC’s, vocalists and various instrumentalists, it displays an urgency and sophistication rarely seen. Weaving together RJD2’s rock solid drums, soulful vibes and horns, samples and everything else available, the album is a kaleidoscopic look both forward and back. “The Colossus” is out now via his own label, RJ’s Electrical Connections.

The Raveonettes – “Boys Who Rape (Should All Be Destroyed)”

Category: Blog · 0

Emerging from an extended holiday slumber, Raveonettes frontman Sune Rose Wagner has created a visually-charged video for In And Out Of Control’s most controversial track, “Boys Who Rape (Should All Be Destroyed).” Put together in his New York apartment, the clip is a sober take on a grave issue, featuring archival images of both victims and perpetrators. Like the song itself, which relies on sugar-sweet harmonies and a ba-ba-ba outro, the video closes by finding hope amidst despair. Considering the sensitive subject matter, Wagner has offered up a heartfelt letter detailing both the song’s origin and the impetus for the video. The message is included in full below.

“I penned this song in the later stages of recording “In And Out Of Control”. At the time I wanted to add an up-tempo song to the album but had no idea what I was getting myself into. The words started pouring and suddenly I realized I was writing about something very important and close to me. An anger stored in me for as long as I can remember. An anger triggered in me by personally witnessing the effect of rape on various individuals and the cowardice of the perpetrators. The immense hatred for someone savagely robbing another girl’s innocence. The disgust for someone brutally forcing a girl to succumb to horrendous acts of violence and sexual humiliation, scarring her for life.

The video was done in the same fashion as the songwriting. Quick and spontaneous. Anger and frustration was cast upon the images and thrown together in a disorderly fashion mimicking the violent behavior of rapists. The song is also a celebration of life and the fact that life does move on even after tragic events such as these. I chose to incorporate several “happy” moments, such as the best guitar solo ever, into the video to leave a sense of hope amidst all this tremendous despair.

Be warned, some images are quite strong but I felt it necessary to portray the evilness in this barbaric act.”
