Eddie Van Halen Weds Girlfriend of 3 years IN FLIP FLOPS!

Category: Blog, News · 1

Vicki Sheff Cahan of www.people.com reports that guitar virtuoso Eddie Van Halen is no longer a solo: Saturday night he married Janie Liszewski, his girlfriend of three years.
58 year old Eddie’s son, Wolfgang, age 18, was best man and Eddie’s brother and drummer of Van Halen served as minister of the wedding. Among the 100 guests: Van Halen’s ex-wife, Valerie Bertinelli (they divorced in 2006, after 25 years of marriage.)
This was Liszewski’s first marriage and Eddie’s 2nd.
Liszewski wore a champagne and pink custom-designed Hanna Hartnell gown with matching Bulgari earrings and bracelet. Her sister, Jennifer, served as maid of honor. Eddie and Wolfie dressed casually in Sy Devore cotton pants, un-tucked buttoned-down shirts and flip-flop sandals – as did the bride and wedding attendants.
The couple wrote their vows and designed the rings – Janie’s, a platinum band beside a nearly three-carat diamond engagement ring; Ed’s, a gold band with yellow diamonds.

New Riverboat Gamblers Video – Victory Lap

Category: Blog, News · 0

Fresh off their opening stint on this summer’s Rise Against/Rancid megatour, Denton, Texas’ favorite sons, THE RIVERBOAT GAMBLERS have unleashed the music video for “Victory Lap,” the second single off their new album, Underneath The Owl. Director Jose Jones writes:

“We were going for a Documentary “On the Road” type look for this video. Mike, the lead Singer, liked my Daniel Johnston Music Video a lot, and wanted something similar. The song is about constantly touring, and then finally coming home. The video combines footage from one on-set location, as well as lots of footage from Shows, and the road, and everything in between. I followed the Boys for months (though I did not get to go to Australia with them, which would have been nice).”

New details about Michael Jackson’s Death Emerge

Category: Blog, News · 5

MEVIO sources have received a copy of the audio of the 911 call from Jackon’s home and live streamed the conversation between the caller and the emergency services operator. In a calm voice, the person requested help as there was a person who wasn’t breathing and needed an ambulance immediately. Other details gleaned are that Jackson was unconscious in his bed, and his personal doctor was by his side, but the caller said “he’s not responding to anything.”

Listen to the 911 call here.

When the operator asks if there were any witnesses, the phone caller says that only the doctor was present with the victim.

Los Angeles police say they have towed the car of a doctor from Michael Jackson’s home because it could contain drugs or other evidence offering clues in the pop star’s death.

Los Angeles police spokeswoman Karen Rayner said coroner’s investigators want to interview the doctor but said she did not know the doctor’s identity. She stressed the doctor was not under criminal investigation.

“His car was impounded because it may contain medications or other evidence that may assist the coroner in determining the cause of death,” Rayner said.

Houston television station KHOU has identified Jackson’s personal doctor as Dr. Conrad Robert Murray, a cardiologist licensed to practice in Texas, who was living at the pop star’s mansion.

An autopsy has been performed by the Los Angeles County coroner, but it may be several weeks before all the results are in.

L.A. County Coroner Investigator Jerry McKibben said results of the autopsy would be announced if the cause of death can be determined, The Associated Press reports.

R.I.P. Sky Saxon of The Seeds

Sky Saxon

Sky Saxon, lead singer of the ’60s garage band the Seeds, died this morning in Austin, TX.

Sky’s wife Sabrina Saxon posted news of his passing on Facebook this morning: “Sky has passed over and YaHoWha is waiting for him at the gate. He will soon be home with his Father. I’m so sorry I couldn’t keep him here with us. More later. I’m sorry.”

Saxon fell ill last Thursday, but was not hospitalized Monday with what doctors suspected was an infection of the internal organs, but cause of death has not yet been released. His final performance was last Saturday at Antone’s (in Austin) with the band Shapes Have Fangs.

He will be missed.

Sky Saxon (real name Richard Marsh) founded the Seeds in 1965 with guitarist Jan Savage, keyboardist Daryl Hooper and drummer Rick Andridge. The bands’s first couple of singles ‘Can’t Seem To Make You Mine’ and ‘Pushin’ Too Hard’ were both large regional hits in the California area. Only the later reached national success when it landed at #39 on the Top 40 chart.
Saxon broke up the Seeds in 1970, when he join the Yahowha religious sect, inspired by their divine leader Father Yod. He released several albums as the Yahowha 13 in the mid 1970s. Members of the sect went their separate ways after Father Yod died in a hang gliding accident in 1974, although Saxon continued to collaborate with various members of the Yahowa.
The 1980′s saw him collaborate with several bands — including Redd Kross and The Chesterfield Kings — before reforming the original Seeds in 1989 to oldies package tour “The Summer of Love”. The remained active speraticly, but by 2003 Saxon was the only remaining original member in the band.
The Seeds were scheduled to play the “California ’66 Revue” tour with The Electric Prunes and Johnny Echols of Love in August.
